Accessibility
Our commitment to making CFRE resources accessible to everyone.
Our Commitment
The Center for Recruiting Excellence (CFRE) is committed to ensuring that our website and digital resources are accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We believe that access to independent research and evidence-based evaluation should not be limited by ability, and we strive to provide an inclusive experience for every visitor to our site.
We continually work to improve the accessibility and usability of our website in alignment with best practices and applicable standards.
Conformance Status
CFRE targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), define requirements for making web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
While we strive to meet Level AA conformance across all pages, we recognize that accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review our website against WCAG criteria and address issues as they are identified.
Accessibility Features
The CFRE website incorporates the following accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML: Pages are built with proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and meaningful document structure to support assistive technologies such as screen readers.
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements, including navigation links, buttons, and form controls, are accessible and operable via keyboard alone.
- ARIA Labels: Where standard HTML elements do not fully convey purpose or state, ARIA attributes are used to provide additional context for assistive technologies.
- Responsive Design: The site is designed to be usable across a wide range of devices and screen sizes, from desktop monitors to mobile phones, and supports text resizing without loss of content or functionality.
- Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements are designed with sufficient color contrast ratios to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements, ensuring readability for users with low vision or color vision deficiencies.
- Descriptive Link Text: Links are written to be meaningful when read out of context, avoiding generic phrases such as "click here" or "read more."
- Form Labels: All form fields include associated labels to ensure they are identifiable and operable with assistive technologies.
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas of the website may not yet fully meet all Level AA criteria. Known limitations include:
- Some older report content may contain data tables that lack full programmatic header associations. We are working to remediate these as reports are updated.
- PDF versions of reports, if available, may not yet be fully accessible. We recommend using the HTML versions of reports for the best accessible experience.
We are actively working to identify and resolve these issues and will update this statement as improvements are made.
